Who What Wear Collection: The Perfect Floral

Floral Wrap Midi Dress: Target found here. White Mules: Who What Wear Collection via Target found below. Straw Clutch: A New Day Collection via Target found below.

I have been obsessed with Target's Who What Wear Collection since it launched. I pop into the Target on the daily just to spy what's new in the collection whether its a handbag, a cute shoe, or a darling dress like the one in today's post. If you have been following me for awhile then you know I jump at any chance I get to mix patterns and just be playful and have fun. I love that about style- that you don't have to take it so seriously and that every outfit can be unexpected. This midi dress is perfect for summer. I can totally re-wear and dress this up completely with a statement ear and a dressier pair of heels to be wedding ready. I love that about the Who What Wear Collection pieces. They are so versatile and can be worn over multiple seasons and throughout the years. Their pieces are timeless.

Today has been somewhat of a strange day of reflection for me. With hearing about the passing of style icon, Kate Spade it made me think about how short life is, and how you just never know what others are going through. Kate Spade was a trailblazer within the fashion realm, having very little knowledge of the handbag business or even the design portion of the business, she kept her head up and pushed through adversity and the challenges which come on the road to success.  She inspires me to keep going, even though some days I have no idea what I'm doing in this whole world of blogging and all that comes with it. All you need is confidence in the passion which has been placed in your heart, and faith that what you produce actually matters and inspires others. With hearing of how Kate passed, it made me think if she really believed that she mattered and that she was an inspiration to so many. I wish she would have truly known how many lives she touched.

Wherever you are, whatever you do in life just know that you matter. You are important. Your presence doesn't go unnoticed, your smile, your creative energy and just YOU alone are like no other. Remember that today. Kate Spade, you will be missed by many.

Eyelet

Eyelet Dress: Marti & Liz Boutique & Shoes. Straw Clutch: Target. Sunnies: H&M: SOLD OUT but similar found here

Since its basically summer, I've been buying lots of new pieces to add to my summer wardrobe. Amongst the most popular ones are eyelet...lots of eyelet. White eyelet screams sweet summertime and I'm in love. I especially love the flutter sleeve detail on this number - its so unique and the perfect touch of feminine detail. I have also been adding a lot of chic eyewear to my accessories collection. I'm especially loving these tortoise shell sunglasses that look like Karen Walker dupes or like a pair you would find at Madewell but they're neither! I scored these beauties at H&M- they are unfortunately sold out but I've linked some similar pairs below! How are you getting your wardrobe prepped and ready for summer?

Cool for the Summer

Striped Jumpsuit: Target found here. Shoes: Nordstrom Rack -BCBG found here

with Fall literally right around the corner, you would think that the temps would start to cool down by now but its been the exact opposite. I'm anxiously awaiting the moment when the air turns crisps and stays that way so that I can pull out all the cute Fall sweaters and tweed blazers that I recently purchased and have been dying to wear! Am I the only one? In the meantime, I've been holding onto some of my summer, closet staples like this striped jumpsuit that I recently purchased from Target. I layered it with my favorite, distressed denim jacket which is sure to make several more appearances as I start to style and shoot some Fall looks. I've been a little MIA over the past couple of months due to recently starting a new job! I plan on getting back into my regular routine and swing of things but thanks so much for following along and bearing with me! Fall has to be one of my favorite seasons, mainly because the scenery here in the Carolina's is absolutely gorgeous with the trees changing and the leaves on the ground. I cannot wait! We're ready when you are, Fall! What are you most excited for, for Fall?

The Fray

Raw Hem Top: Easel via Marti and Liz Shoes. Denim: Marshalls. Shoes: Steve Madden via Burlington Coat Factory. Sunnies: Rayban via Belk.
All Images: Kimberly Greene

these days I'm all about fray detailing! fraying also most commonly known as a raw hem can be found on lots of denim styles, and structured pieces like this button down blouse. I love how it can add just the right amount of edge and character to such a simple and staple piece. these are my favorite pair of skinnys that I scored from Marshalls awhile back. I actually didn't buy these pair with the raw hem detailing on the bottom but it was a quick and easy DIY that I plan on sharing soon on the blog.
my raw hem button down top is a recent purchase that I can't wait to style for Fall with jeans and a cute pair of booties.  Recently, a little bit of a cold front came through Charlotte and it got me all exciting for Fall fashion and all the things involving my favorite season. I love the boyfriend fit of this top and you guys also know I love a good stripe! are ya'll fans of the whole raw hem/fray trend? let me know in the comments section below!

Cold Shoulder

Dress: Marshalls. Lace Up Heels: Marc Fisher  via Belk. Bag: Marshalls. Tassel Earrings: H&M.

I'm clearly obsessed with little white dresses this summer. Sorry, not sorry! I have been clinging to clean whites, and natural hues this summer which sounds kind of basic, but sometimes simplicity in your everyday style is key. I love how crisp, fresh and lightweight this cold shoulder number is- it's so perfect for summer and the blue embroidered detail is perfect for this weekend's 4th of July festivities. I paired this flowy Free People like dress with my Marc Fisher lace up heels and my favorite tassel earrings. Not to mention that I snagged this dress for a steal at my favorite place ever! Marshalls! for only...$20!

Can you guys believe we are already in July?! Where does the time go? Seriously! I'll be spending this 4th of July weekend celebrating my great grandmothers 99th birthday, and grilling/hanging out by the pool with friends. Do you guys  have plans for the holiday?

Bye Bye Summer

Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Belk. Jeans: The Gap. Top: Forever 21. Watch: Guess. Sunnies: Fab'rik.

Hello, hey, HI, HOW YA DURIN?! Long time no see! :) There is no denying that Beautique'd has been a tad barren this summer. I could go down the list of excuses like work has me swamped, life has gotten in the way, and blah blah blah however those would just be excuses and it wouldn't be the truth. Although work does keep me busy and let's face it, life is always crazy- the real reason for my little hiatus is that I just felt it necessary to step away and take a breather- a little summer vaca if you will :)

This summer has been lots of fun! From roaming the streets of NYC, to planning and producing my first fashion show. I've had so many great experiences, and made so many more memories with my friends and family. I'm thankful that I was able to just bask, and enjoy in these special moments this summer instead of worrying about getting the best picture to share with you guys on the blog, or capturing the most perfect 640 x 640 Insta pics. While I did capture a couple of moments, which you can find on my Instagram here. I wasn't consumed with it. If you are a blogger, or have been a blogger then you know that it's so easy to fall into the trap of producing perfection all of the time. It's overwhelming and unrealistic. If there is one thing I've learned about myself is that I never want to lose sight of why I started and created this corner of the internet to begin with. I started Beautique'd in hopes of inspiring and sharing with you guys my affordable fashion, and because I love playing a part in making people look and feel good about themselves. It makes my heart burst with the feel-goods. Christ has given me so much joy in that and that's how I know it's my purpose.

All that goes to say, that I want to always keep it real with you guys. Even though it may seem like I have it all together from the looks of my Instagram feed, I go through things just like y'all. I have my days where I just don't want too. My moments where life doesn't make sense. LOL does life ever make sense?! But, that's the  beauty of it all. That we are all trying to figure it out and that's okay. We are all in this together. After some time away, I'm so glad to be back to blogging and sharing with you guys. Today's post is all about my new, favorite pair of Gap Jeans. With fall right around the corner, I've been stacking up on fall staples. These distressed skinny jeans will be in heavy rotation the next couple of months.

CLEAN

White Top: Jessica Simpson. Jeans: Chip & Pepper. Shoes: Guess. Watch: Guess

I can already tell that this summer is going to be all about crisp, clean whites for me. I just love the light, airy freshness about white on white or this simple white top, with my favorite Chip & Pepper denim. I normally gravitate toward Jessica Simpson's show line over her clothing line any day, but surprisingly she carries some exceptionally cute pieces which are affordable and easy to style. This off-the-shoulder top and romper from my last post are just a few of my recent purchases. How do you guys feel about fresh whites for summer?

White Tee

Tribal Print Skirt: Target. Shoes: Jessica Simpson Julez Heels via Off Broadway Shoes. Clutch: Ross Dress for Less. Watch: Michael Kors. White Top: Guess. Sunglasses: Platos Closet

You've been forewarned before about my love for prints! I just can't help myself. And, I definitely couldn't say no to this tribal inspired print that I snatched up at my local Target earlier this spring. I'd been contemplating what exactly to pair it with. I debated a crop top with the same pattern since 2 piece sets are all the rage this season, but that wasn't quite the look that I had envisioned. This light weight, white blouse was the perfect top. I almost forgot how important it is to have basics, like a plain white tee. I like to keep my basic colors in V-necks for a go-to casual look, or it's nice to have collard tops in your basic colors to give you that crisp, pulled together look. What I love about this white top from Guess, is that it isn't too stiff and boring. The material is extremely light-weight, soft and relaxed. I could easily get away with pairing this top with so many other fits, which is the great thing about basics. So, moral of the story always, always, always! keep basic tees, and camisoles as a part of your wardrobe ;) Enjoy your Thursday loves!

LBS

Crop Top Screen Tee: Forever 21. Cut-Off Shorts: American Eagle. Black, Strappy Heels: Candies. Necklace: Old. Clutch: Ross Dress for Less. Bangles: Target.

Am I wrong for assuming that every girl out there has that perfect, go-to LBD (little black dress) hidden away in the corner of her closet?, you know that one knock-out dress that's tucked away for those special occasions with the beau or as a very last resort wedding dress? Wellll if you don't own a LBD, I'm almost certain you have to own a cute pair of LBS (little black shoes.) I probably own way more pairs of black strappy sandals than is considered normal, but these have to be one of my favorites! They hug my little feet just perfectly, and they give this little shorty a good couple inches of height. Ha! A pair of little black shoes is just as essential as having the perfect, little black dress. When picking out my heels, I always keep comfort, versatility, price, quality and of course, style in mind. What do you guys look for when purchasing your heels? I pairedthese edgy black heels with my jean cutoffs, and rocker crop-top, muscle tee...which y'all know I love so much. I bought this tee a couple weeks ago for the Justin Timberlake concert, which was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Love me some JT. This look is perfect for summer concerts. It's a mix between sophisticated, and edgy. I think the floral kimono gives it a little bit of a boho chic touch, which I'm definitely a fan of. What concerts have you guys gone to this summer?
