Basic is Best

Being thirty, and a working woman both in the corporate sphere and in the influencer world; it's of utmost importance to always be prepared with a business card. I always treat any social opportunity especially in a professional setting to network and connect with like minded individuals who could be supportive in the goals that I am trying to achieve. In the world of adulting, you quickly come to find that it's all about who you know when it comes to doors of opportunity.

I most recently was able to sample my own business cards and have partnered with Basic Invite to show you some of their chic designs. What's really great about Basic Invite is that they are one of few companies that allow their customers almost unlimited color and design options with the ability to preview your design prior to ordering. They also have over 180 color options to choose from which I loved because you are almost guaranteed to find the perfect color compliment you are looking for to match your branding.

Basic Invite also offers super cute invitations, envelopes, and the option to add foiling to either of these stationaries. Adding silver, rose gold or gold foil to a business card or invitation adds that perfect finishing touch and chic detail which you can't go wrong with!

Right now, Basic Invite is offering 15% off using coupon code 15FF51.

I am so obsessed with the samples that I received and can't wait to put in my order for more! From embossed business cards, to cards with your photo these are some of the best looking business cards that I have laid my eyes on and you will not be disappointed!

Saddle Up!

Distressed Denim: See Thru Soul via Belk similar found here. Denim Top: Who What Wear Collection via Target similar found here. Burgundy with White Polka Dots Neck Scarf: Who What Wear Collection via Target found here. Suede Motto Jacket: Jou Jou via Marshalls similar found here. Camel Pumps: Steve Madden via Belk found here. Limited Edition Saddle Bag 23 in Burnish Glovetanned Leather in the Bordeaux color: Coach

You guys we almost made it through the work week after vacation! Only one more day but who's counting? It's been such a struggle to get back in the saddle- see what I did there :)

Coming off the high of the holidays made it that much more easy to join in on the celebration of Coach's 75th Anniversary! In honor of such a huge milestone, Coach is bringing back the iconic saddle bag. I have been a fan of this trend ever since it started to emerge on the runways a couple of seasons ago. The size and shape of these bags are both efficient, fashionable and the perfect accessory to top off any casual look. I am in love with all things merlot colored especially during the winter and fall, so this creamy Bordeaux color is a perfect addition to my wardrobe.

I stuck with a good ole Canadian Tuxedo to keep my look simple and to really show off the bag. Distressed denim on the bottom is a great way to edge up this type of look. I paired my denim on denim with this gorgeous suede motto from Marshalls and neck scarf from the Target Who What Wear Collection. I kept my shoes neutral with these chunky, camel colored Steve Madden pumps.

Happy 75th Anni, Coach! Cheer's to many more years of timeless fashion.

The Caftan Dress

Dress: H&M found here. Shoes: Steve Madden via Burlington Coat Factory similar found here.

I know I can't be the only one having serious FOMO looking at all of the Instagram stories, snapchats and posts of NYFW. Ahhh, its my dream to one day make it to the concrete jungle and play an active part in New York Fashion week. I love everything I have seen on the runways and seeing all of the Spring shows has me inspired to start changing out my summer wardrobe for fall. One thing I love about a good summer piece, is that it can be transitional into the cooler temps like this palm fronds/floral print Caftan dress from H&M. Seriously, all of the heart eyes. I love the long sleeves, that make it that much more of a transitional fall piece. I can't wait to pair it with my blush pink motto jacket that I styled here. It's still pretty warm here in Charlotte...who am I kidding?! It's hot as hades like every single day, but I have my fingers crossed that cooler weather is right around the corner.

Cold Shoulder

Dress: Marshalls. Lace Up Heels: Marc Fisher  via Belk. Bag: Marshalls. Tassel Earrings: H&M.

I'm clearly obsessed with little white dresses this summer. Sorry, not sorry! I have been clinging to clean whites, and natural hues this summer which sounds kind of basic, but sometimes simplicity in your everyday style is key. I love how crisp, fresh and lightweight this cold shoulder number is- it's so perfect for summer and the blue embroidered detail is perfect for this weekend's 4th of July festivities. I paired this flowy Free People like dress with my Marc Fisher lace up heels and my favorite tassel earrings. Not to mention that I snagged this dress for a steal at my favorite place ever! Marshalls! for only...$20!

Can you guys believe we are already in July?! Where does the time go? Seriously! I'll be spending this 4th of July weekend celebrating my great grandmothers 99th birthday, and grilling/hanging out by the pool with friends. Do you guys  have plans for the holiday?

70s Flare

I am loving the re-invention of the 70's trend. The bell bottoms, bell sleeves, fringe, platforms, retro sunnies and modest swimsuits and necklines are giving me so much life! This summer smock, and sunnies remind me of everything about 70's fashion. All I need is a little bit more Farrah Faucet flip and I'll be good! I love the high neckline, and gingham pattern of this dress- it's perfect for a Saturday picnic, brunch with the girls, or some summer fun in the city. Also, the price tag gave me all the heart eyes at just $17!

There are 4 different ways to incorporate the 70's remix trend into your wardrobe. First, invest in a pair of slim fit perfectly belled, bell bottoms or culottes. This is such a chic and sophisticated look and I'm so glad that it's making it's reappearance as a casual piece or a workwear piece. Since the weather will be getting warmer as the months go on, stick to lighter weight fabrics when it comes to finding this perfect piece. Second, incorporate fringe in small doses. There are plenty of cute fringe, gladiator sandals, crossbodies with fringe detail, and fringed denim is huge now but with fringe it's easy to over do it. Be selective in what you choose to be your staple fringe piece for an outfit. A little bit goes a long way with. Third, platform shoes! Nothing says 70's like the platform shoe. The height of these shoes range, but no matter the highness of the shoe, these are the most comfortable pair of "heels" I've worn in a while. I could wear these Steve Madden Rose Gold platforms for hours and not even think twice about it. This purchase was so worth it. Fourth, a pair of rounded, retro sunnies are an inexpensive way to give your look some 70's flare.

What do you guys think of the 70's trend? Leave me your thoughts in the comment section below!

Eyelet

Pants: H&M found here. Top: Marshalls. Shoes: Old- Steve Madden via Belk. Bag: Tory Burch via Nordstrom Rack.

One of the things I look forward to about each week is casual Friday. I love waking up on Friday knowing it's the weekend and knowing I don't have to give my outfit any extra thought because it's usually just dark denim and a cute top. But then there's Thursday, you know...Friday eve! By Wednesday, my fancy schmancy workwear is all tapped out, and all I want is to be comfortable but cute. These H&M printed slim fit pants are everything!! They are comfortable, cute and the pattern is unique and playful. Not to mention, the price I got them for is *emoji praise hands* - they were only $15. I mean, how could I not buy these in every color/pattern! The ones I'm wearing are sold out, but I've linked the same pant in different patterns up top. They are lightweight and definitely corporate friendly. I paired them with this gorgeous eyelet white top from...you guessed it! Marshalls. I love how crisp, and summer fresh it is and that I'll be able to pair it with a number of skirts and shorts during the upcoming summer season.

Classic

Top: Marshalls. White Denim: Marshalls. Bag: Marshalls. Earrings: H&M.

There is nothing quite like a classic, crisp pair of white denim or finding an outfit for under $50. Marshalls you just get me. Always have and always will! I love that white denim in my opinion, surpasses all season rules and can be worn in summer, spring, fall and winter. I definitely plan on getting my fair wear out of them, so don't act surprised if they make another appearance on the blog. The fit is absolutely perfect, and I love the distressed effect which gives them a little edge- easily allowing you to take these to a night on the town look. I paired my white denim with this black and white top- I absolutely love the delicate, embroidered detailing. I always feel like tops like these are so unique, and hard to come so it's always an easy yes!

Basically Basic

Shoes: Sam Edelman via Belk. Distressed Denim: Belk. Bag: Marshalls. White Tee: Old Navy. Vest: Belk.

Never underestimate the power of a basic white tee, and sticking to neutrals for a casual spring look! My love for minimalistic, neutral tones has grown over the years. This look is simple, chic, and sophisticated all in one. And, major bonus that every piece I'm wearing is under $60. If you're having trouble building basics for your wardrobe, my go-tos are always Old Navy, the Gap, and sometimes even Marshalls to pull together my closet staples. I'm absolutely in love with this khaki, trench style vest from Belk simply because layering is the perfect way to make a smooth transition into this warmer weather. I'm super excited for this glorious weather and the fact that starting Sunday (don't forget to Spring forward!) there will still be a trace of sunlight left when leaving work. It's the little things :) What are some of your favorite closet staples?

Cozy

Sweater Dress is SOLD OUT but similar here. OTK Boots via Belk- they are old but similar here. Coat: Nordstrom Rack. Sunnies: Old Navy.

Early mornings have never been my favorite, and early, cold mornings legitimately are the worst things next to CROCS. I know I can't be the only one who would rather stay under the covers for a couple of hours as soon as my alarm clock sounds. Since the temps have dropped, and I guess it's officially winter? the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to getting dressed for the work day is wearing something warm and cozy because 1.) I hate being cold and 2.) I hate being cold. I love the simplicity of this knit sweater dress from Old Navy. When I initially wore this dress for work, I went with a shorter boot to make it more corporate friendly. However, for this particular look, I edged it up a bit with these Sam Edelman over the knee boots. I hope over the knee boots never go out of style because I'm always a fan of a little bit of sass!

Checkmate

Buffalo Plaid Button Down: Old Navy. Shop Here. Aztec Poncho: Old Navy. Shop Here. Distressed Denim: See Thru Soul Megan Skinny via Belk. Shop Here. Peep Toe Booties: Vince Camuto via Belk

As if I didn't love pattern mixing already! No, seriously...pattern mixing is the perfect way to edge up and make a plain Jane outfit unique. I've found a new way to mix it up and it features this Buffalo plaid button down, and Aztec poncho from you guessed it (orrr maybe you didn't)...Old Navy!  This isn't the first, nor will it be the last time that I rave about how far Old Navy has come. From the basic 90's screen tee that everyone and they mama used to have (don't act like you don't remember, or that you didn't own one *side eye*) to these amazing, classic fall pieces...they have hit the nail on the head when it comes to affordable fall, fashion. I feel like as I get older, my wardrobe is starting to mirror the minimalistic mindset with a couple of fashion/trendy pieces here and there. It's truly the best way to go if you are opting to look cute on a budget. A minimalistic mindset also allows you to get creative and think of ways that the same pieces can be worn differently to create a whole new look without spending a dime. Also, it doesn't hurt that the red and black color combo gives you a festive feel which is perfect for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. Because, who's not counting down the days until Christmas?!

SWING IT

Hat: Old Navy. Shop Here. Dress: Ross Dress for Less. Blanket Scarf:Fiore Boutiqe. Shop Here. Boots: Old Navy. Shop Here.

Hi Lovelies!! My sincere apologies that it's been so long overdue for an outfit post! I'll admit that I've gotten into the bad habit of having such sporadic blog posts. With working in corporate retail, everyone is gearing up for the holiday season- there are lots of loose ends to tie, lots of meetings, etc.- this is actually my first go round with the holiday season within my position and with my new team so I've been working really hard to make sure everything is as it should be. Burning the midnight oil has left me no time to stress or worry about posting. But, I've missed you guys so much and things are slowing down so I'll have more outfit posts and beauty tips to share just in time for the holiday season. I'm also working on re-branding and relaunching my website so please bare with me! :)

Today's post is all about the super comfy, swing dress. It's basically like you're wearing a night gown except totally appropriate to wear out and about. Whether you're apple picking with friends, brunching, or shopping this neutral number is perfect for all three occasions. Since Jack Frost hasn't completely stolen the show yet, I can get away with layering my blanket scarf to keep me warm, and cozy. You will be seeing lots of scarves and floppy hats on rotation during the fall/winter season. I picked up this floppy hat from Old Navy last weekend. They were having an amazing sale and the hat was super inexpensive. I've been frequenting my local Old Navy like it's nobody's business y'all!! They have so many cute pieces that will last you for season's and seasons. Head on over to your local Old Navy or shop the links listed above. Happy Shopping!
