70s Flare

I am loving the re-invention of the 70's trend. The bell bottoms, bell sleeves, fringe, platforms, retro sunnies and modest swimsuits and necklines are giving me so much life! This summer smock, and sunnies remind me of everything about 70's fashion. All I need is a little bit more Farrah Faucet flip and I'll be good! I love the high neckline, and gingham pattern of this dress- it's perfect for a Saturday picnic, brunch with the girls, or some summer fun in the city. Also, the price tag gave me all the heart eyes at just $17!

There are 4 different ways to incorporate the 70's remix trend into your wardrobe. First, invest in a pair of slim fit perfectly belled, bell bottoms or culottes. This is such a chic and sophisticated look and I'm so glad that it's making it's reappearance as a casual piece or a workwear piece. Since the weather will be getting warmer as the months go on, stick to lighter weight fabrics when it comes to finding this perfect piece. Second, incorporate fringe in small doses. There are plenty of cute fringe, gladiator sandals, crossbodies with fringe detail, and fringed denim is huge now but with fringe it's easy to over do it. Be selective in what you choose to be your staple fringe piece for an outfit. A little bit goes a long way with. Third, platform shoes! Nothing says 70's like the platform shoe. The height of these shoes range, but no matter the highness of the shoe, these are the most comfortable pair of "heels" I've worn in a while. I could wear these Steve Madden Rose Gold platforms for hours and not even think twice about it. This purchase was so worth it. Fourth, a pair of rounded, retro sunnies are an inexpensive way to give your look some 70's flare.

What do you guys think of the 70's trend? Leave me your thoughts in the comment section below!

Chambray + Aztec

Chambray Shift Dress: Old Navy. Earrings: H&M. Shoes: Marc Fisher via Belk found here. Bag: Tory Burch via Nordstrom Rack. Watch:  Guess. Bangles: Old Navy.

Much like classic black and white style (if you missed Wednesday's post check it out here) I don't think chambray is anywhere close to leaving the runways this Spring or going out of style any time soon. Chambray, a lighter version of denim with the same type of look is a great piece to have whether it be a button down top, a romper, or a shift dress like the one I scooped up from Old Navy a couple of weeks ago. Not to mention that I got it for a major steal...try $9. Yep, pretty much makes my life when I'm willing to take on the jungle of clothes that blew up in the clearance section of Old Navy and find pieces like this . It's worth it ladies I'm telling you! It just takes a little bit of patience and the will to walk out of the store with a great deal! There is nothing quite like the feeling of knowing you saved tons of money on a piece you'll be sure to wear over and over again for the next couple of months to a year.

Classic

Top: Marshalls. White Denim: Marshalls. Bag: Marshalls. Earrings: H&M.

There is nothing quite like a classic, crisp pair of white denim or finding an outfit for under $50. Marshalls you just get me. Always have and always will! I love that white denim in my opinion, surpasses all season rules and can be worn in summer, spring, fall and winter. I definitely plan on getting my fair wear out of them, so don't act surprised if they make another appearance on the blog. The fit is absolutely perfect, and I love the distressed effect which gives them a little edge- easily allowing you to take these to a night on the town look. I paired my white denim with this black and white top- I absolutely love the delicate, embroidered detailing. I always feel like tops like these are so unique, and hard to come so it's always an easy yes!

Weekend Style

Dress: Old Navy. Chambray Top: Marshalls. Shoes: Old Navy. Sunnies: Old Navy.

I don't know about you but I live for the weekends! Depending on the week I've had at work, you might just catch me frolicking out of the building on a Friday afternoon. There is just something about knowing you have a couple of days to get away from the stress of work. My weekends are usually filled with catching up with friends, checking out new spots in Charlotte, football, and sleep. When I'm not planning to fill the weekends with something fun to do, I love to also use my free time to work on personal, non-work related hobbies like my blog, and photography and just hang out around the house catching up on my shows and new movies. Those are my favorite kinds of weekends. The ones where I don't really have any set plans. I also love to be in the most comfortable yet chic clothing possible. I absolutely love this cotton,t-shirt dress I picked up at Old Navy last weekend. It's comfortable but not frumpy. I tied it all together ( no pun intended) with this simple, chambray button down top and chic mirrored sunnies. This look will most definitely be my Fall, lazy day uniform. I can't wait to buy more of these comfortable little dresses.

Bye Bye Summer

Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Belk. Jeans: The Gap. Top: Forever 21. Watch: Guess. Sunnies: Fab'rik.

Hello, hey, HI, HOW YA DURIN?! Long time no see! :) There is no denying that Beautique'd has been a tad barren this summer. I could go down the list of excuses like work has me swamped, life has gotten in the way, and blah blah blah however those would just be excuses and it wouldn't be the truth. Although work does keep me busy and let's face it, life is always crazy- the real reason for my little hiatus is that I just felt it necessary to step away and take a breather- a little summer vaca if you will :)

This summer has been lots of fun! From roaming the streets of NYC, to planning and producing my first fashion show. I've had so many great experiences, and made so many more memories with my friends and family. I'm thankful that I was able to just bask, and enjoy in these special moments this summer instead of worrying about getting the best picture to share with you guys on the blog, or capturing the most perfect 640 x 640 Insta pics. While I did capture a couple of moments, which you can find on my Instagram here. I wasn't consumed with it. If you are a blogger, or have been a blogger then you know that it's so easy to fall into the trap of producing perfection all of the time. It's overwhelming and unrealistic. If there is one thing I've learned about myself is that I never want to lose sight of why I started and created this corner of the internet to begin with. I started Beautique'd in hopes of inspiring and sharing with you guys my affordable fashion, and because I love playing a part in making people look and feel good about themselves. It makes my heart burst with the feel-goods. Christ has given me so much joy in that and that's how I know it's my purpose.

All that goes to say, that I want to always keep it real with you guys. Even though it may seem like I have it all together from the looks of my Instagram feed, I go through things just like y'all. I have my days where I just don't want too. My moments where life doesn't make sense. LOL does life ever make sense?! But, that's the  beauty of it all. That we are all trying to figure it out and that's okay. We are all in this together. After some time away, I'm so glad to be back to blogging and sharing with you guys. Today's post is all about my new, favorite pair of Gap Jeans. With fall right around the corner, I've been stacking up on fall staples. These distressed skinny jeans will be in heavy rotation the next couple of months.

The Gray Bootie

Oxblood Leather Skater Skirt: Five 13 Studio. Fringe Top: Marshalls. Grey Booties: Aldo Shoes. Champagne Studded bag: Ross Dress for Less

It's official like a referee whistle! lol FALL IS HEREEEE!! Hip Hip Hooray! Time to pull out all my chunky sweaters, booties, and my favorite oxblood leather skirt from Five 13 Studio. I also wore this skirt here, but decided to dress it up this time around. These little gray booties are absolutely to die for, and the best thing about them is I got them for a steal last Black Friday at Aldo. You will be seeing them a lot this fall on the blog. Leather pieces are key for edging up your fall wardrobe. I'm on the look out for a black leather midi for work. What I love about about this oxblood leather skirt is that it isn't your plain, black leather skirt. The tone and hue of the oxblood is perfect for fall, and can easily be paired with other neutral fall colors to really set it off. Fall is without a doubt my favorite time of the year, besides Christmas. I've been indulging in lots of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes and my amazingly, delicious homemade chicken tortilla soup. What have you guys been doing to celebrate the first day of fall??

Turquoise

Maxi Dress: Ross Dress for Less. Gold Metallic Sandals: Old Navy. Watch: Guess. Bangles: Old Navy

While the temps are at an all time high in the Carolinas, I'm dreaming of a vacay in Greece! It's on my bucket list to travel to one of the most beautiful places I've ever laid eyes on via Google images of course ha! The people, the food, the place- I want to experience everything Greece has to offer. One day! But until then, I'll just close my eyes and pretend while I stroll the town in this gorgeous turquoise Maxi. Oh my goodness, I'm in love with everything about it! Especially being that turquoise is my favorite color and for some reason I just feel like a Greek Goddess would totally wear this! By now, you guys know that touches of gold accessories are my go to. I actually found these gold metallic sandals at Old Navy a couple of weekends ago for like $7. And yes, it made my heart happy. Such a great find! The puffed sleeves give me that kind of seventies vibe, which just makes this dress an all around modern summer classic. I'll definitely be getting my fair wear out of it ;)

Scalloped Style

Scalloped Romper: Marshalls. Snakeskin Clutch: Target. Floral Pumps: Guess via Off Broadway Shoes. Necklace: Target. Earrings: Francescas Ring: BCBG

This spicy, scalloped romper is pretty much amazing! I love what a scalloped hemline can do to a simple article of clothing. A scalloped hemline is much more playful and gives that particular article of clothing, whether it be a pencil skirt, or crop top just a little bit more umph and detail than a straight lined hem. For me, summer is all about bright, and bold colors! It's the perfect way to show off that summer glow! Shades of corally reds, cobalt blues and hot pinks have been my favorite for this summer! And you can't go wrong when you get to combine all of your favorite summer colors together in one gorgeous pump! Aren't they adorable?!! Since the romper is bold but still maintains one basic color throughout, these shoes are the perfect way to set off the color and add a little bit of personality to your outfit! How do you guys feel about the scalloped trend this summer?
