Fresh Start

Orange Balloon Sleeve Sweater: Target found here. Frayed, distressed Denim: Tractr Jeans via Nordstrom Rack. Bucket Bag: Zara. Snakeskin Booties: Steve Madden found here.

It's the second week into January, and I may be a little late to the game with my first post of 2018 but hey I'm here now and that's all that matters! There is nothing like a fresh start to truly put life and goals into perspective. I love that clean slate feeling about the new year. 2017 was an incredible year! I'm truly grateful for the places I was able to travel to, the people I was able to meet, and for the opportunities presented to me.

One of the things that I love to do in the new year is a vision board. This just started as of last year and I feel like it really gives me focus and inspiration to go after my goals whether they be little or small. On New Years Eve, my cousin, her friend and I all sat down and made vision boards for the New Year and spoke out loud the accomplishments we were proud of in 2017, as well as what we wanted to change/achieve in 2018.

Amongst my list of goals, one of my goals which really stood out to me was to be more confident and to be unapologetic. It's funny how being a blogger, you find yourself catching up with people in person and they think your life is a dream and that everything is picture perfect! Don't get me wrong, I love my life however, it is far, far from perfect. I go through high highs and low lows just like the next 29-year-old gal. In 2018 I'm vowing to love myself flaws and all- which isn't easy! It's a constant battle in the mind but the Lord knew what he was doing when he created me- every cell, every strand of hair, every piece of me was designed to serve a purpose that no one on this earth could ever compare to because there is no one like me! And, there is no one like you! There is beauty in knowing that there is no one else like you. No one else can do the things you do, the way you do them. So, OWN IT! I want to own that, and never be sorry for it. I am feeling so inspired, and ready to conquer another year. I truly believe this self-love can change things! It will easily change your perspective on life, and how you handle situations thrown your way. So, who's with me?! What are some of your 2018 goals? Would love to hear them. Leave me a comment below.

Cozy

Sweater Dress is SOLD OUT but similar here. OTK Boots via Belk- they are old but similar here. Coat: Nordstrom Rack. Sunnies: Old Navy.

Early mornings have never been my favorite, and early, cold mornings legitimately are the worst things next to CROCS. I know I can't be the only one who would rather stay under the covers for a couple of hours as soon as my alarm clock sounds. Since the temps have dropped, and I guess it's officially winter? the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to getting dressed for the work day is wearing something warm and cozy because 1.) I hate being cold and 2.) I hate being cold. I love the simplicity of this knit sweater dress from Old Navy. When I initially wore this dress for work, I went with a shorter boot to make it more corporate friendly. However, for this particular look, I edged it up a bit with these Sam Edelman over the knee boots. I hope over the knee boots never go out of style because I'm always a fan of a little bit of sass!

Marble

Shoes: Aldo currently ON SALE here. Dress via Target found here. Leather Motto: Old via Forever 21. Beanie: Marshalls similar here, here and here

NORTH CAROOOLINAAAA COME ON AND RAISE UP! *in my best Petey Pablo voice* lol it's Monday and if you haven't heard- the Carolina Panthers are officially on their way to Super Bowl 50!! All of Charlotte was absolute mayhem last night as the Panthers clinched the NFC Championship Title. I'm still on a high and that's probably the only thing getting me through this Monday!

I guess that's enough sports talk, well...for now at least. Let's get to what you really came for. I love everything about this Target marble print scuba drop waist dress. The pastel tones are absolute winter perfection, and the fit is simply to die for. Whoever invented scuba material- I THANK YOU *insert emoji praise hands* I've been obsessed with these Aldo booties that my sister got me for Christmas. What's not to love about a chic, sleek black bootie with a metallic heel? And, ladies their currently on sale for under $100! You definitely need them in your life - trust me on this one :)

I hope you all have a fabulous Monday and #GoPanthers!

Weekend Style

Dress: Old Navy. Chambray Top: Marshalls. Shoes: Old Navy. Sunnies: Old Navy.

I don't know about you but I live for the weekends! Depending on the week I've had at work, you might just catch me frolicking out of the building on a Friday afternoon. There is just something about knowing you have a couple of days to get away from the stress of work. My weekends are usually filled with catching up with friends, checking out new spots in Charlotte, football, and sleep. When I'm not planning to fill the weekends with something fun to do, I love to also use my free time to work on personal, non-work related hobbies like my blog, and photography and just hang out around the house catching up on my shows and new movies. Those are my favorite kinds of weekends. The ones where I don't really have any set plans. I also love to be in the most comfortable yet chic clothing possible. I absolutely love this cotton,t-shirt dress I picked up at Old Navy last weekend. It's comfortable but not frumpy. I tied it all together ( no pun intended) with this simple, chambray button down top and chic mirrored sunnies. This look will most definitely be my Fall, lazy day uniform. I can't wait to buy more of these comfortable little dresses.

Bye Bye Summer

Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Belk. Jeans: The Gap. Top: Forever 21. Watch: Guess. Sunnies: Fab'rik.

Hello, hey, HI, HOW YA DURIN?! Long time no see! :) There is no denying that Beautique'd has been a tad barren this summer. I could go down the list of excuses like work has me swamped, life has gotten in the way, and blah blah blah however those would just be excuses and it wouldn't be the truth. Although work does keep me busy and let's face it, life is always crazy- the real reason for my little hiatus is that I just felt it necessary to step away and take a breather- a little summer vaca if you will :)

This summer has been lots of fun! From roaming the streets of NYC, to planning and producing my first fashion show. I've had so many great experiences, and made so many more memories with my friends and family. I'm thankful that I was able to just bask, and enjoy in these special moments this summer instead of worrying about getting the best picture to share with you guys on the blog, or capturing the most perfect 640 x 640 Insta pics. While I did capture a couple of moments, which you can find on my Instagram here. I wasn't consumed with it. If you are a blogger, or have been a blogger then you know that it's so easy to fall into the trap of producing perfection all of the time. It's overwhelming and unrealistic. If there is one thing I've learned about myself is that I never want to lose sight of why I started and created this corner of the internet to begin with. I started Beautique'd in hopes of inspiring and sharing with you guys my affordable fashion, and because I love playing a part in making people look and feel good about themselves. It makes my heart burst with the feel-goods. Christ has given me so much joy in that and that's how I know it's my purpose.

All that goes to say, that I want to always keep it real with you guys. Even though it may seem like I have it all together from the looks of my Instagram feed, I go through things just like y'all. I have my days where I just don't want too. My moments where life doesn't make sense. LOL does life ever make sense?! But, that's the  beauty of it all. That we are all trying to figure it out and that's okay. We are all in this together. After some time away, I'm so glad to be back to blogging and sharing with you guys. Today's post is all about my new, favorite pair of Gap Jeans. With fall right around the corner, I've been stacking up on fall staples. These distressed skinny jeans will be in heavy rotation the next couple of months.

CLEAN

White Top: Jessica Simpson. Jeans: Chip & Pepper. Shoes: Guess. Watch: Guess

I can already tell that this summer is going to be all about crisp, clean whites for me. I just love the light, airy freshness about white on white or this simple white top, with my favorite Chip & Pepper denim. I normally gravitate toward Jessica Simpson's show line over her clothing line any day, but surprisingly she carries some exceptionally cute pieces which are affordable and easy to style. This off-the-shoulder top and romper from my last post are just a few of my recent purchases. How do you guys feel about fresh whites for summer?

MDW Style

Floral Print Romper: Jessica Simpson via Belk found here. Metallic Sandals: Candies via Kohls. Earrings: Old.

WHAT A WEEK!! It's always the hardest to get back into the swing of things after a long holiday weekend. But thank you sweet baby Jesus it's been a shorter work week. I hope that you guys enjoyed your Memorial Day Weekend. I spent it catching up with old friends, and relaxing with family which was heavenly. Probably one of my favorite parts of the weekend was getting to see my college friend and fellow blogging babe Molly! Is she not the cutest little blonde bombshell?! I remember when she first started blogging, and how obsessed I was with it then and even more so now! She truly inspired me to start my own little creative corner of the internet. You have to swing my Molly's Musings for tons of outfit inspiration and super glam braiding tutorials. It was fun snapping a couple of pics together. We both went for casual, comfy style. A cute little romper is always an easy, carefree go to look for summer time. What did you guys wear to celebrate the holiday?

So MOD

Shift Dress: Marshalls. Shoes: Sam Edelman via Belk. Crossbody: Marshalls. Sunnies: Old Navy.

The weather has been absolutely glorious in Charlotte these past couple of days. I'm loving every bit of it. Quick, easy and chic are the three words I always keep in mind when shopping for my spring/summer work wardrobe. As much as I wish I was, I'm not a morning person at all so I like be able to think of cute outfits that require minimal effort :) Which is the reason I love the shift dress so much. Super comfortable and classy for work and play. During the summer, I'm always making plans to go out and enjoy the weather after work which is why I am very fond of outfits which make the transition for fun, summer evenings. This look is the perfect combo of mod and chic. What are some of your favorite staple pieces for spring/summer?

Midi Love

Crop Top: Marshalls. Aztec Printed Midi: Nordstrom Rack. Peep Toe Booties: Vince Camuto via Belk.  Sunglasses: Target
Whether this weekend will be celebrated with your girls or that special someone, lets be honest in the fact that for girls Valentines is another holiday to get dolled up and channel your inner fierceness. And I present to you, the fiercest staple of them all- the fitted midi. I absolutely love a great, fitted midi and my infatuation soared above and beyond when I found one in this beautiful, aztec pattern. It can be challenging to pull off the midi if you are on the shorter side like me, but that's when I turn to a cute heel to elongate my figure. I got these leather Vince Camuto peep toe booties back in the fall, but the weather was amazing on Sunday when I snapped these pictures so they were perfect. Since it is Valentines Day weekend, I opted for hints of pink instead of going all out with an outfit with heavy reds and pinks. So cliche if you ask me! Mix it up a little (see what I did there ;) lol. This printed crop top gives this look just a little bit of sweetness and edge all at the same time. This look or something similar will be a guaranteed hit for whatever your Valentines plans are this weekend. What do you guys have planned?

Plaid Flannel + Moto Jackets

Boyfriend Jeans: Seven Jeans of All Mankind via Clothes Mentor. Suede Booties: Ross Dress for Less. Creme Bag: Marshalls. Plaid Flannel: Marshalls. Grey Moto Jacket: Platos Closet. Knit Beanie: Marshalls

I cannot believe that it's already November! This year seriously flew by way too fast. I And can we please talk about how it feels like we completely skipped fall and jumped right into winter without any warning at all! Brrr! That's basically North Carolina weather for ya! Plaid flannel is easily my favorite go to for both a fall and winter casual look. You can go with a fitted plaid flannel top for a more put together, crisp casual fall look or you could also slouch up your look look with a looser, fitting Boyfriend plaid flannel top, a cape, leggings, some tall boots and a cute little beanie. I love the versatility of flannel. I went with the more put together look by pairing my flannel with a little gray moto jacket. Also, my latest obsession has been these Seven Jeans of all Mankind distressed boyfriend jeans that I got for a steal at Clothes Mentor. Floppy, brimmed hats are a huge trend for the fall/winter but the classic, knit beanie will always be one of my favorites. How do you guys style your plaid flannel? I'd love more inspiration!
