Marigold

One of my favorite things about seasons changing is getting to play with different color hues. In the past, I've been naturally drawn to deep merlot shades once the temperature finally starts to cool down but this Fall is a different story. I have been loving the Marigold yellow color this season. It's saturated pigment is absolutely gorgeous and chic yet playful and fun. Also, the sleeves on this sweater are my absolute favorite. I've been seeing tons and tons of bell sleeve sweaters and they are surely going to be one of my  This past weekend, we got a little bit more of a taste, well...more like a tease of chilly, Fall weather and my family and I took full advantage. We visited Windy Hill Orchard in York, SC and partook in all things Fall i.e. Cider doughnuts, live music, hard cider flights and more! I'm so excited for the weather to actually stick around, for cozy sweaters and layers, the smell of bonfires in the crisp night, pumpkin picking and re-runs of Hocus Pocus on FreeForm LOL.

What are you most looking forward to about the Fall season? Are you normally drawn to a certain color once this time of year rolls around? Let me know in the comments box below!

The Fray

Raw Hem Top: Easel via Marti and Liz Shoes. Denim: Marshalls. Shoes: Steve Madden via Burlington Coat Factory. Sunnies: Rayban via Belk.
All Images: Kimberly Greene

these days I'm all about fray detailing! fraying also most commonly known as a raw hem can be found on lots of denim styles, and structured pieces like this button down blouse. I love how it can add just the right amount of edge and character to such a simple and staple piece. these are my favorite pair of skinnys that I scored from Marshalls awhile back. I actually didn't buy these pair with the raw hem detailing on the bottom but it was a quick and easy DIY that I plan on sharing soon on the blog.
my raw hem button down top is a recent purchase that I can't wait to style for Fall with jeans and a cute pair of booties.  Recently, a little bit of a cold front came through Charlotte and it got me all exciting for Fall fashion and all the things involving my favorite season. I love the boyfriend fit of this top and you guys also know I love a good stripe! are ya'll fans of the whole raw hem/fray trend? let me know in the comments section below!

Stars & Stripes

Striped Navy Top: Zara. Patchwork Raw Hem Denim: Marshalls. Navy New Balances: Off Broadway Shoes similar found here. White Crossbody: Rebecca Minkoff via Nordstrom Rack.

All Photos: Kimberly Greene

I'll forever and always be a fan of minimalistic stripes. They are just so simple but make any simple outfit pop. I was clearly inspired by the upcoming holiday weekend in my choice of styling this outfit with navy hues, and a nice red lip. Can we talk about these statement earrings?! They are one of my favorite pieces of jewelry from the new Baublebar Sugarfix line at Target. This new line has a statement piece for everyone. From tassels, to chokers to intricately beaded designs- you will not be disappointed. The price point is another one of the reasons I'm a huge fan of this collaboration and collection at Target. You can get cute, trendy pieces without spending a ridiculous amount of money.

I'm not normally one to be found in sneakers, but the whole athleisure trend is changing the game and changing my mind about being comfortable yet fashionable at the same time. I scored these New Balance's last Fall from Off Broadway shoes, but I love how versatile the color is-easily transitioning to my Spring and Summer wardrobe. I used to own a pair of these exact same New Balances in grey in Middle School so every time I wear them, it brings back feelings of nostalgia.

This outfit is perfect for chill MDW plans like a cookout, a day at the theme park, or just hanging out with friends. I'm super excited to have some time off from work to rest, relax and spend time with friends and family. What do you guys have planned for the weekend?

Gingham + Overalls

This week was a whirlwind- in a good way! If you follow me on Instagram, or keep up with me in Instastories then you know that I was featured on Julianne Hough's website talking about 3 of my favorite places here in Charlotte, NC. My sister and I also had the opportunity to attend her Move Live Tour, and even got to meet/hang out with her after the show. I'm still in shock and disbelief about it all!
Blogging has afforded me so many amazing opportunities and open doors, and I'm so thankful and appreciative of all of the awesome ways that the Lord continues to open doors for my passion. I owe Him everything. It's also just been reassuring and encouraging to keep pushing and walking in my purpose. There are plenty of days when find myself comparing, I question my purpose, or don't really see how everything will pan out but the Lord keeps showing me that we don't always have to see the big picture. We are called to simply trust and have faith that the steps we take walking in our passion and purpose do not go unnoticed.
I say all of that, just to encourage anyone reading this post. If you've been debating starting your own blog, just do it! It's overwhelming at first, but He will walk with you through it all. Giving you all that you need to complete the work that he has started within you.
I wore this super cute, casual outfit for my shoot and I love everything about it. The overall jumper brings back feelings of nostalgia, and I may or may not have worn it 3 times over the first week of purchasing it. This gingham ruffle sleeve top is a SheIn find! The quality of the shirt is impeccable, and I got it for next to nothing. I paired the jumper and shirt with these white espadrilles that I've been raving about all Spring.
My full post of Charlotte favorites can be found here. Also, if the Move Live Tour is coming to a city near you, you have to go! The show is amazing from start to finish. Julianne and Derek Hough are SO talented, and perform with so much passion. I love how real and genuine they both are despite their fame. They have such a great appreciation and respect for all of their fans. And when I say all, I mean every.single.one. Tour dates can be found here.

Saddle Up!

Distressed Denim: See Thru Soul via Belk similar found here. Denim Top: Who What Wear Collection via Target similar found here. Burgundy with White Polka Dots Neck Scarf: Who What Wear Collection via Target found here. Suede Motto Jacket: Jou Jou via Marshalls similar found here. Camel Pumps: Steve Madden via Belk found here. Limited Edition Saddle Bag 23 in Burnish Glovetanned Leather in the Bordeaux color: Coach

You guys we almost made it through the work week after vacation! Only one more day but who's counting? It's been such a struggle to get back in the saddle- see what I did there :)

Coming off the high of the holidays made it that much more easy to join in on the celebration of Coach's 75th Anniversary! In honor of such a huge milestone, Coach is bringing back the iconic saddle bag. I have been a fan of this trend ever since it started to emerge on the runways a couple of seasons ago. The size and shape of these bags are both efficient, fashionable and the perfect accessory to top off any casual look. I am in love with all things merlot colored especially during the winter and fall, so this creamy Bordeaux color is a perfect addition to my wardrobe.

I stuck with a good ole Canadian Tuxedo to keep my look simple and to really show off the bag. Distressed denim on the bottom is a great way to edge up this type of look. I paired my denim on denim with this gorgeous suede motto from Marshalls and neck scarf from the Target Who What Wear Collection. I kept my shoes neutral with these chunky, camel colored Steve Madden pumps.

Happy 75th Anni, Coach! Cheer's to many more years of timeless fashion.

It's crazy to even think 2016 is 2 days away from being over. I always love this time of year, as its much often a time spent resting, reflecting and preparing to enter into a new season of life. 2016 was a year filled with many challenges and closed doors as well as exciting opportunities and self-realizations. This was actually the first year that I made an effort to type out my New Years' "Resolutions" and I actually managed to successfully cross a couple off of my list. This is definitely a tradition I am going to keep going for myself to help maintain focus and intentionality within my day to day.

As I get older, I want every part of my life to hold meaning and purpose. My purpose ultimately rests in being a vessel for the Lord, and doing what I do in my professional life as well as in my hobbies all to give him honor and praise. There are so many new and exciting adventures that I want to embark on in the new year, and I find myself thinking "how in the world is this going to happen?!" but the still small voice of the Lord always keeps me anchored in hope and faith. I trust and believe that only the absolute best is yet to come and that it won't come too soon nor will it come too late. His promises will be right on time, and perfect in every way. I'm excited for my purpose to continue to unfold within my personal life, my professional life as well as my blog. I'm so appreciative to all of you who have followed along on my journey so far. I plan on being a lot more consistent, and intentional with providing the best content for you guys so I hope that you will stick around!

I'm closing out 2016 with this super chic New Year's Eve outfit that has to be one of my favorites to date. I bought this metallic skater skirt almost 2 summers ago and never managed to find the time to wear it until now! It's the perfect festive piece to have in your closet for an anniversary date, birthday, Christmas party or New Year's Eve i.e. this post. I paired it with a comfortable velvet onesie from Marshalls with a sexy V-neck illusion neckline and my favorite Marc Fisher lace up tassel sandals as the weather has been quite warm as of lately. I kept the festive vibe going with my sparkly, gray tassel earrings from H&M and the cutest of cutest minibags from Marshalls.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

The Caftan Dress

Dress: H&M found here. Shoes: Steve Madden via Burlington Coat Factory similar found here.

I know I can't be the only one having serious FOMO looking at all of the Instagram stories, snapchats and posts of NYFW. Ahhh, its my dream to one day make it to the concrete jungle and play an active part in New York Fashion week. I love everything I have seen on the runways and seeing all of the Spring shows has me inspired to start changing out my summer wardrobe for fall. One thing I love about a good summer piece, is that it can be transitional into the cooler temps like this palm fronds/floral print Caftan dress from H&M. Seriously, all of the heart eyes. I love the long sleeves, that make it that much more of a transitional fall piece. I can't wait to pair it with my blush pink motto jacket that I styled here. It's still pretty warm here in Charlotte...who am I kidding?! It's hot as hades like every single day, but I have my fingers crossed that cooler weather is right around the corner.

Cold Shoulder

Dress: Marshalls. Lace Up Heels: Marc Fisher  via Belk. Bag: Marshalls. Tassel Earrings: H&M.

I'm clearly obsessed with little white dresses this summer. Sorry, not sorry! I have been clinging to clean whites, and natural hues this summer which sounds kind of basic, but sometimes simplicity in your everyday style is key. I love how crisp, fresh and lightweight this cold shoulder number is- it's so perfect for summer and the blue embroidered detail is perfect for this weekend's 4th of July festivities. I paired this flowy Free People like dress with my Marc Fisher lace up heels and my favorite tassel earrings. Not to mention that I snagged this dress for a steal at my favorite place ever! Marshalls! for only...$20!

Can you guys believe we are already in July?! Where does the time go? Seriously! I'll be spending this 4th of July weekend celebrating my great grandmothers 99th birthday, and grilling/hanging out by the pool with friends. Do you guys  have plans for the holiday?

Eyelet

Pants: H&M found here. Top: Marshalls. Shoes: Old- Steve Madden via Belk. Bag: Tory Burch via Nordstrom Rack.

One of the things I look forward to about each week is casual Friday. I love waking up on Friday knowing it's the weekend and knowing I don't have to give my outfit any extra thought because it's usually just dark denim and a cute top. But then there's Thursday, you know...Friday eve! By Wednesday, my fancy schmancy workwear is all tapped out, and all I want is to be comfortable but cute. These H&M printed slim fit pants are everything!! They are comfortable, cute and the pattern is unique and playful. Not to mention, the price I got them for is *emoji praise hands* - they were only $15. I mean, how could I not buy these in every color/pattern! The ones I'm wearing are sold out, but I've linked the same pant in different patterns up top. They are lightweight and definitely corporate friendly. I paired them with this gorgeous eyelet white top from...you guessed it! Marshalls. I love how crisp, and summer fresh it is and that I'll be able to pair it with a number of skirts and shorts during the upcoming summer season.

Cold Shoulder

Denim Midi Skirt: Free People via Belk similar found here. Off the Shoulder Top: Everly via Belk found here. Lace Up Shoes: Marc Fischer via Belk found here. Bag: Tory Burch via Nordstrom Rack. Sunnies: Target. Tassel Earrings: H&M similar found here.

I've never minded being on the shorter side (if anyone was wondering I'm around 5'1ish) I mean everything cute comes in smaller packages ;) am I right or am I right? Although I've never been self-conscious about being on the shorter, more petite side...finding the perfect pair of jeans and skirts can sometimes be a bit of struggle. If you're short like me, we can hop on board the struggle bus together!
I'm usually drawn toward fitted midi skirts, and I'm not gonna lie picking up this Free People skirt on the hanger I didn't think it would do anything for my figure. I was sure that it would swallow me, but I was pleasantly surprised. Side Note: One thing I've learned while shopping and styling is to never judge a piece of clothing on the hanger...you'd be surprised what gems you find when you actually give them a try. I'm also not opposed to spending that extra few minutes the fitting room. I love the way this skirt hugs the right places but billows out at the bottom. It's the perfect fit and flare and gives me the seventies vibe which is all the rage this season. I paired my denim midi with this lightweight off the shoulder top- which OMG, give me all the off the shoulder tops and tassel earrings! Seriously...I'm obsessed. These are by far my favorite pair of statement earrings that I own. They are so much fun and easily go with most of my spring/summer wardrobe! I love that tassels are here to stay for a while and I'll definitely be adding more flirty, delicate off the shoulder tops to my wardrobe.

Basically Basic

Shoes: Sam Edelman via Belk. Distressed Denim: Belk. Bag: Marshalls. White Tee: Old Navy. Vest: Belk.

Never underestimate the power of a basic white tee, and sticking to neutrals for a casual spring look! My love for minimalistic, neutral tones has grown over the years. This look is simple, chic, and sophisticated all in one. And, major bonus that every piece I'm wearing is under $60. If you're having trouble building basics for your wardrobe, my go-tos are always Old Navy, the Gap, and sometimes even Marshalls to pull together my closet staples. I'm absolutely in love with this khaki, trench style vest from Belk simply because layering is the perfect way to make a smooth transition into this warmer weather. I'm super excited for this glorious weather and the fact that starting Sunday (don't forget to Spring forward!) there will still be a trace of sunlight left when leaving work. It's the little things :) What are some of your favorite closet staples?
