Pumped Up Kicks

Jean Overall Jumper: Forever 21. Puffy Sleeve White Blouse: Forever 21. Embroidered Tennis Shoes: Traffic Shoes found here. Crossbody: The Frye Company.

Photos by: Kimberly Greene

Statement shoes are definitely having a moment this Fall season. From embroidered mules, to my new found favorite, embroidered tennis shoes. I will be completely honest and admit that less than 5% of my shoe closet are tennis shoes and the other 95% are heels. Working a 8-5 in Corporate America doesn't really lend itself to comfortable shoes, but whenever I can get my hand on a pair as cute as these white, embroidered tennis shoes its a complete game changer. Being a lover of fashion, I'm constantly scrolling through my Instagram feed for outfit inspiration and staying up late on Pinterest pinning fashion trends that I can put my own spin on. Wearing tennis shoes with dresses is currently a trend statement I've been seeing everywhere and couldn't wait to try.
I paired this overall jean jumper dress with a statement poplin sleeve white top and my Frye crossbody which is perfect for Fall. These statement shoes gifted to me by the team at Traffic Shoes were the perfect way to make this outfit trendy and chic. I cannot wait to style these adorable shoes with some of my Fall sweaters that I FINALLY get to wear. Can't wait to share with all of you! Meanwhile, I'll just be over here breathing in all the Fall crisp air, drinking Trader Joe's Pumpkin spice coffee, and slipping on my booties because, I do believe that Fall has arrived.

Marigold

One of my favorite things about seasons changing is getting to play with different color hues. In the past, I've been naturally drawn to deep merlot shades once the temperature finally starts to cool down but this Fall is a different story. I have been loving the Marigold yellow color this season. It's saturated pigment is absolutely gorgeous and chic yet playful and fun. Also, the sleeves on this sweater are my absolute favorite. I've been seeing tons and tons of bell sleeve sweaters and they are surely going to be one of my  This past weekend, we got a little bit more of a taste, well...more like a tease of chilly, Fall weather and my family and I took full advantage. We visited Windy Hill Orchard in York, SC and partook in all things Fall i.e. Cider doughnuts, live music, hard cider flights and more! I'm so excited for the weather to actually stick around, for cozy sweaters and layers, the smell of bonfires in the crisp night, pumpkin picking and re-runs of Hocus Pocus on FreeForm LOL.

What are you most looking forward to about the Fall season? Are you normally drawn to a certain color once this time of year rolls around? Let me know in the comments box below!

Sayonara Summer?

Off the Shoulder Top: Romwe found here.Choker Necklace: Belk. Distressed White Denim: Marshalls. Mules: Dolce Vita via Belk similar found here. Sunnies: Quay Australia via Marshalls

Hi there!! Sorry it's been a minute since I've posted any outfit inspiration. The past couple months have been a bit of a whirlwind- simply put...being a twenty-something can sometimes have you all feeling like "what the heck am I doing with my life?! Where was the Life 101 course in college?! Ha!
Now onto more important things, like this super, cute Marigold off-the-shoulder top I scored for under $15 found here. I am loving the fact that the cold shoulder trend is carrying over into the fall season just because there is something so simple, yet chic and feminine about bare shoulders. Although this outfit might scream summer to you, the marigold hue of the blouse is perfect for fall, and lets be honest- who is actually following the "no white after Labor Day rule" umm clearly not me! Also, I have been living in these Dolce Vita mules which are perfect for these indecisive temps. How are you wearing the cold shoulder trend for Fall?

Checkmate

Buffalo Plaid Button Down: Old Navy. Shop Here. Aztec Poncho: Old Navy. Shop Here. Distressed Denim: See Thru Soul Megan Skinny via Belk. Shop Here. Peep Toe Booties: Vince Camuto via Belk

As if I didn't love pattern mixing already! No, seriously...pattern mixing is the perfect way to edge up and make a plain Jane outfit unique. I've found a new way to mix it up and it features this Buffalo plaid button down, and Aztec poncho from you guessed it (orrr maybe you didn't)...Old Navy!  This isn't the first, nor will it be the last time that I rave about how far Old Navy has come. From the basic 90's screen tee that everyone and they mama used to have (don't act like you don't remember, or that you didn't own one *side eye*) to these amazing, classic fall pieces...they have hit the nail on the head when it comes to affordable fall, fashion. I feel like as I get older, my wardrobe is starting to mirror the minimalistic mindset with a couple of fashion/trendy pieces here and there. It's truly the best way to go if you are opting to look cute on a budget. A minimalistic mindset also allows you to get creative and think of ways that the same pieces can be worn differently to create a whole new look without spending a dime. Also, it doesn't hurt that the red and black color combo gives you a festive feel which is perfect for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. Because, who's not counting down the days until Christmas?!

SWING IT

Hat: Old Navy. Shop Here. Dress: Ross Dress for Less. Blanket Scarf:Fiore Boutiqe. Shop Here. Boots: Old Navy. Shop Here.

Hi Lovelies!! My sincere apologies that it's been so long overdue for an outfit post! I'll admit that I've gotten into the bad habit of having such sporadic blog posts. With working in corporate retail, everyone is gearing up for the holiday season- there are lots of loose ends to tie, lots of meetings, etc.- this is actually my first go round with the holiday season within my position and with my new team so I've been working really hard to make sure everything is as it should be. Burning the midnight oil has left me no time to stress or worry about posting. But, I've missed you guys so much and things are slowing down so I'll have more outfit posts and beauty tips to share just in time for the holiday season. I'm also working on re-branding and relaunching my website so please bare with me! :)

Today's post is all about the super comfy, swing dress. It's basically like you're wearing a night gown except totally appropriate to wear out and about. Whether you're apple picking with friends, brunching, or shopping this neutral number is perfect for all three occasions. Since Jack Frost hasn't completely stolen the show yet, I can get away with layering my blanket scarf to keep me warm, and cozy. You will be seeing lots of scarves and floppy hats on rotation during the fall/winter season. I picked up this floppy hat from Old Navy last weekend. They were having an amazing sale and the hat was super inexpensive. I've been frequenting my local Old Navy like it's nobody's business y'all!! They have so many cute pieces that will last you for season's and seasons. Head on over to your local Old Navy or shop the links listed above. Happy Shopping!

Weekend Style

Dress: Old Navy. Chambray Top: Marshalls. Shoes: Old Navy. Sunnies: Old Navy.

I don't know about you but I live for the weekends! Depending on the week I've had at work, you might just catch me frolicking out of the building on a Friday afternoon. There is just something about knowing you have a couple of days to get away from the stress of work. My weekends are usually filled with catching up with friends, checking out new spots in Charlotte, football, and sleep. When I'm not planning to fill the weekends with something fun to do, I love to also use my free time to work on personal, non-work related hobbies like my blog, and photography and just hang out around the house catching up on my shows and new movies. Those are my favorite kinds of weekends. The ones where I don't really have any set plans. I also love to be in the most comfortable yet chic clothing possible. I absolutely love this cotton,t-shirt dress I picked up at Old Navy last weekend. It's comfortable but not frumpy. I tied it all together ( no pun intended) with this simple, chambray button down top and chic mirrored sunnies. This look will most definitely be my Fall, lazy day uniform. I can't wait to buy more of these comfortable little dresses.

Wild Thing

Jumpsuit: H&M. Caged Booties: Sam Edelman via Belk. Sunnies: Fabrik Charlotte.

If you know me, you are also very familiar with my rather unhealthy obsession with leopard print. Fall, is my favorite time to pull out pops of leopard print which could range from a blanket scarf, leopard print flat, or heel. I would have never thought to take the plunge and go full out with a jumpsuit but when I spotted this sassy number at H&M a couple of weekends ago (on sale, might I add) I just couldn't resist. I'm a sucker for beautiful patterns and unique pieces and I'm so glad  I went with my gut feeling to make the purchase. It's absolutely perfect for the cooler temps, and could easily be worn for summer, spring, fall and winter. I can't wait to layer it with a navy blazer for work, or a transitional crisp white vest. Transitioning your summer pieces to fall is all in the layers.

Plaid Flannel + Moto Jackets

Boyfriend Jeans: Seven Jeans of All Mankind via Clothes Mentor. Suede Booties: Ross Dress for Less. Creme Bag: Marshalls. Plaid Flannel: Marshalls. Grey Moto Jacket: Platos Closet. Knit Beanie: Marshalls

I cannot believe that it's already November! This year seriously flew by way too fast. I And can we please talk about how it feels like we completely skipped fall and jumped right into winter without any warning at all! Brrr! That's basically North Carolina weather for ya! Plaid flannel is easily my favorite go to for both a fall and winter casual look. You can go with a fitted plaid flannel top for a more put together, crisp casual fall look or you could also slouch up your look look with a looser, fitting Boyfriend plaid flannel top, a cape, leggings, some tall boots and a cute little beanie. I love the versatility of flannel. I went with the more put together look by pairing my flannel with a little gray moto jacket. Also, my latest obsession has been these Seven Jeans of all Mankind distressed boyfriend jeans that I got for a steal at Clothes Mentor. Floppy, brimmed hats are a huge trend for the fall/winter but the classic, knit beanie will always be one of my favorites. How do you guys style your plaid flannel? I'd love more inspiration!

Aztec

Aztec Shift Dress: Ross Dress for Less. Army Green Utility Vest: Dots Fashion. Peep Toe Brown Suede Booties: Ross Dress for Less. Cream Bag: Marshalls

It's been awhile since my last outfit post, but I'm backkk! and with new fall hair! If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen the new ombre. I'm loving it! I found the most perfect Aztec shift dress, and it only cost be $12.99 so I naturally just had to share with you guys! Ya'll Ross Dress for Less is my jam!! And this cute number has been one of my fall favorites. I'm a huge fan of dresses that can transition from work wear to play. Since there is already a lot going on with the pattern and coloring of the dress itself, I paired it with this simple yet chic army green utility vest and my peep toe brown suede booties which are also from Ross. The army green utility vests and jackets are huge statement piece for the fall and have the ability to dress a look up or down with the right accessories. This outfit has been perfect for the weather which it still hasn't fully transitioned to fall yet here in North Carolina. The days are still quite warm. The dress and vest combo make it fall-tastic and still comfortable enough for the warmer temps. Oh, and let's not forget this perfectly, gorgeous Vegan leather Isabelle bag from Marshalls. I literally died and went to heaven when I laid eyes on it, and aint no way I was about to walk out of the store without it! What styles have you guys been loving this fall?

The Magnetic Fashion Show

So thankful for each of these beautiful ladies! Thank you so much for taking time out of your weekend to be a part of this experience.

Of course we had to take a selfie!!

My mom and I being silly in the photo booth! I wouldn't have been able to put the show together without her help! Thank you mama! :)

About a week ago, I had the honor and privilege of coordinating my very first Fashion Show! I would have never thought or even considered taking on such a task, but something within me told me to go for it. After all, my heart and passion lies in styling people and making them look and feel good about themselves. It was the perfect opportunity and I just could not say no.

For weeks, I along with a committee of other women planned and prayed over a girls conference that would be run by girls for girls. Cool concept right?! Lynn Cowell, author of Magnetic, Becoming the Girl He Wants, decided that she wanted to create a weekend of fellowship for young high school girls who share a heart for the Lord and for one another. The weekend was full of praise & worship time, Question and Answer with a panel of young women, a Fashion show, arts and crafts and so much more.

It was such an awesome experience getting to spend time with each of the girls I chose for the show. Each of them had their own distinct personality and sense of style. It was truly a Magnetic Experience. My main focus for the show was this year's fall trends, and each girl represented a different trend. We showcased inspirational ways to rock Camo, Pastels, the Utility Jacket, Animal Print, Leather, Denim on Denim and Floral Print. Don't they all look adorable?! I'm so so thankful for this opportunity and the way that the Lord continues to show me my purpose, and my gifts. He is so faithful. I hope you guys enjoy your weekend!

The Gray Bootie

Oxblood Leather Skater Skirt: Five 13 Studio. Fringe Top: Marshalls. Grey Booties: Aldo Shoes. Champagne Studded bag: Ross Dress for Less

It's official like a referee whistle! lol FALL IS HEREEEE!! Hip Hip Hooray! Time to pull out all my chunky sweaters, booties, and my favorite oxblood leather skirt from Five 13 Studio. I also wore this skirt here, but decided to dress it up this time around. These little gray booties are absolutely to die for, and the best thing about them is I got them for a steal last Black Friday at Aldo. You will be seeing them a lot this fall on the blog. Leather pieces are key for edging up your fall wardrobe. I'm on the look out for a black leather midi for work. What I love about about this oxblood leather skirt is that it isn't your plain, black leather skirt. The tone and hue of the oxblood is perfect for fall, and can easily be paired with other neutral fall colors to really set it off. Fall is without a doubt my favorite time of the year, besides Christmas. I've been indulging in lots of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes and my amazingly, delicious homemade chicken tortilla soup. What have you guys been doing to celebrate the first day of fall??
