The Fray

Raw Hem Top: Easel via Marti and Liz Shoes. Denim: Marshalls. Shoes: Steve Madden via Burlington Coat Factory. Sunnies: Rayban via Belk.
All Images: Kimberly Greene

these days I'm all about fray detailing! fraying also most commonly known as a raw hem can be found on lots of denim styles, and structured pieces like this button down blouse. I love how it can add just the right amount of edge and character to such a simple and staple piece. these are my favorite pair of skinnys that I scored from Marshalls awhile back. I actually didn't buy these pair with the raw hem detailing on the bottom but it was a quick and easy DIY that I plan on sharing soon on the blog.
my raw hem button down top is a recent purchase that I can't wait to style for Fall with jeans and a cute pair of booties.  Recently, a little bit of a cold front came through Charlotte and it got me all exciting for Fall fashion and all the things involving my favorite season. I love the boyfriend fit of this top and you guys also know I love a good stripe! are ya'll fans of the whole raw hem/fray trend? let me know in the comments section below!

Checkmate

Buffalo Plaid Button Down: Old Navy. Shop Here. Aztec Poncho: Old Navy. Shop Here. Distressed Denim: See Thru Soul Megan Skinny via Belk. Shop Here. Peep Toe Booties: Vince Camuto via Belk

As if I didn't love pattern mixing already! No, seriously...pattern mixing is the perfect way to edge up and make a plain Jane outfit unique. I've found a new way to mix it up and it features this Buffalo plaid button down, and Aztec poncho from you guessed it (orrr maybe you didn't)...Old Navy!  This isn't the first, nor will it be the last time that I rave about how far Old Navy has come. From the basic 90's screen tee that everyone and they mama used to have (don't act like you don't remember, or that you didn't own one *side eye*) to these amazing, classic fall pieces...they have hit the nail on the head when it comes to affordable fall, fashion. I feel like as I get older, my wardrobe is starting to mirror the minimalistic mindset with a couple of fashion/trendy pieces here and there. It's truly the best way to go if you are opting to look cute on a budget. A minimalistic mindset also allows you to get creative and think of ways that the same pieces can be worn differently to create a whole new look without spending a dime. Also, it doesn't hurt that the red and black color combo gives you a festive feel which is perfect for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. Because, who's not counting down the days until Christmas?!

Bye Bye Summer

Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Belk. Jeans: The Gap. Top: Forever 21. Watch: Guess. Sunnies: Fab'rik.

Hello, hey, HI, HOW YA DURIN?! Long time no see! :) There is no denying that Beautique'd has been a tad barren this summer. I could go down the list of excuses like work has me swamped, life has gotten in the way, and blah blah blah however those would just be excuses and it wouldn't be the truth. Although work does keep me busy and let's face it, life is always crazy- the real reason for my little hiatus is that I just felt it necessary to step away and take a breather- a little summer vaca if you will :)

This summer has been lots of fun! From roaming the streets of NYC, to planning and producing my first fashion show. I've had so many great experiences, and made so many more memories with my friends and family. I'm thankful that I was able to just bask, and enjoy in these special moments this summer instead of worrying about getting the best picture to share with you guys on the blog, or capturing the most perfect 640 x 640 Insta pics. While I did capture a couple of moments, which you can find on my Instagram here. I wasn't consumed with it. If you are a blogger, or have been a blogger then you know that it's so easy to fall into the trap of producing perfection all of the time. It's overwhelming and unrealistic. If there is one thing I've learned about myself is that I never want to lose sight of why I started and created this corner of the internet to begin with. I started Beautique'd in hopes of inspiring and sharing with you guys my affordable fashion, and because I love playing a part in making people look and feel good about themselves. It makes my heart burst with the feel-goods. Christ has given me so much joy in that and that's how I know it's my purpose.

All that goes to say, that I want to always keep it real with you guys. Even though it may seem like I have it all together from the looks of my Instagram feed, I go through things just like y'all. I have my days where I just don't want too. My moments where life doesn't make sense. LOL does life ever make sense?! But, that's the  beauty of it all. That we are all trying to figure it out and that's okay. We are all in this together. After some time away, I'm so glad to be back to blogging and sharing with you guys. Today's post is all about my new, favorite pair of Gap Jeans. With fall right around the corner, I've been stacking up on fall staples. These distressed skinny jeans will be in heavy rotation the next couple of months.

Crossbody Bags & Caged Booties

Navy Hat: Yard Sale. Sweater: Marshalls. Boyfriend Jeans: Sevens for All Mankind via Clothes Mentor. Caged Booties: Sam Edelman via Belk. Studded Crossbody: Marshalls Necklace: Old Navy.

I surprisingly didn't do much Black Friday shopping this year! I did have to run a bunch of errands that day and couldn't resist stepping into Marshalls to see what kind of goodies they had in stock for all the crazies out shopping. I stumbled upon this perfect, leather studded crossbody and I'm so glad I went with my intuition to grab it. Crossbodies have to be my favorite trend this year. Don't get me wrong, I love a big bag but there is just something about the convenience and cuteness of having a little crossbody especially during holiday shopping. Because let's be real- having to carry around tons of shopping bags on top of lugging around a big ole handbag is NO FUN! That's what's so convenient about the crossbody, you just sling it on and you're on your merry way. Perfect! And, what's even more amazing about this Marshalls fabfound is that its identical to this Valentino Studded Mini Crossbody, but I paid a whole lot less!! Try $24.99 for this bad boy. FABULOUS! I'm currently obsessed with these creme colored Sam Edelman booties that I scored at Belk. They go with almost everything and the caged texture gives my comfy casual look a little bit of extra edge. Are you a crossbody or big handbag kinda girl? Or both?

Plaid Flannel + Moto Jackets

Boyfriend Jeans: Seven Jeans of All Mankind via Clothes Mentor. Suede Booties: Ross Dress for Less. Creme Bag: Marshalls. Plaid Flannel: Marshalls. Grey Moto Jacket: Platos Closet. Knit Beanie: Marshalls

I cannot believe that it's already November! This year seriously flew by way too fast. I And can we please talk about how it feels like we completely skipped fall and jumped right into winter without any warning at all! Brrr! That's basically North Carolina weather for ya! Plaid flannel is easily my favorite go to for both a fall and winter casual look. You can go with a fitted plaid flannel top for a more put together, crisp casual fall look or you could also slouch up your look look with a looser, fitting Boyfriend plaid flannel top, a cape, leggings, some tall boots and a cute little beanie. I love the versatility of flannel. I went with the more put together look by pairing my flannel with a little gray moto jacket. Also, my latest obsession has been these Seven Jeans of all Mankind distressed boyfriend jeans that I got for a steal at Clothes Mentor. Floppy, brimmed hats are a huge trend for the fall/winter but the classic, knit beanie will always be one of my favorites. How do you guys style your plaid flannel? I'd love more inspiration!

LBS

Crop Top Screen Tee: Forever 21. Cut-Off Shorts: American Eagle. Black, Strappy Heels: Candies. Necklace: Old. Clutch: Ross Dress for Less. Bangles: Target.

Am I wrong for assuming that every girl out there has that perfect, go-to LBD (little black dress) hidden away in the corner of her closet?, you know that one knock-out dress that's tucked away for those special occasions with the beau or as a very last resort wedding dress? Wellll if you don't own a LBD, I'm almost certain you have to own a cute pair of LBS (little black shoes.) I probably own way more pairs of black strappy sandals than is considered normal, but these have to be one of my favorites! They hug my little feet just perfectly, and they give this little shorty a good couple inches of height. Ha! A pair of little black shoes is just as essential as having the perfect, little black dress. When picking out my heels, I always keep comfort, versatility, price, quality and of course, style in mind. What do you guys look for when purchasing your heels? I pairedthese edgy black heels with my jean cutoffs, and rocker crop-top, muscle tee...which y'all know I love so much. I bought this tee a couple weeks ago for the Justin Timberlake concert, which was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Love me some JT. This look is perfect for summer concerts. It's a mix between sophisticated, and edgy. I think the floral kimono gives it a little bit of a boho chic touch, which I'm definitely a fan of. What concerts have you guys gone to this summer?

Bubble Gum Pink & Bold Blues

Distressed Cut-Off Shorts: Old. Similar:Here. Creme Crossbody Bag: Forever 21.  White Collared Top: Guess. Hot Pink Blazer: H&M. Julez Heels: Jessica Simpson. Pearl Necklace: Old. Similar: Here.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Sorry it's been a minute since I've posted- life has been cray! But I'll be posting more regularly for the weeks to come. I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I was able to join in on the fun at my very first blogging event hosted by Off Broadway Shoes. I purchased three pairs of spring/summer shoes and these Jessica Simpson Julez heels definitely make my list of faves. Pops of color are hot for this summer, so this cute little blue shoe is the perfect way to make any summer outfit pop! AND they come in several different other colors, you can shop here. Although it's a tad bit too warm to be rocking a blazer, I just couldn't resist pairing this hot pink with the electric blue. Plus, the cut-off distressed denim balance out the combo for a warm summer evening date night, or for a night out on the town. Get bold and brave! Have fun with pops of color this summer!

Summer Days Ahead

Denim Dress: Forever 21. Similar Here. Shoes: Chuck Taylors. White Leather Studded Clutch: Ross. Similar Here. Fedora (Old).

It's been a minute since I've posted! Sorry friends! No worries though, I'm back with a super, cute outfit post just in time for Memorial Day! It's officially that time of year for BBQ's, long pool days, warm summer nights, Firecracker popsicles (those are my absolute fav!) and more. We definitely skipped right over spring, and summer has arrived! This classic, denim flared dress paired with my high top Chucks is the perfect, simple ensemble for summer days that I have long awaited. If I could I would live in a Fedora for the next 3 months. A cute fedora, floppy hat, or baseball cap are an easy go-to accessory  for days at the pool or beach. Not only are they stylish, but they protect your skin from the sun's rays. Aint nobody got time to be sun burnt or dealing with the aftermath of too much sun. What kind of styles and fashions will you guys be wearing this Memorial Day?
