Basic is Best

Being thirty, and a working woman both in the corporate sphere and in the influencer world; it's of utmost importance to always be prepared with a business card. I always treat any social opportunity especially in a professional setting to network and connect with like minded individuals who could be supportive in the goals that I am trying to achieve. In the world of adulting, you quickly come to find that it's all about who you know when it comes to doors of opportunity.

I most recently was able to sample my own business cards and have partnered with Basic Invite to show you some of their chic designs. What's really great about Basic Invite is that they are one of few companies that allow their customers almost unlimited color and design options with the ability to preview your design prior to ordering. They also have over 180 color options to choose from which I loved because you are almost guaranteed to find the perfect color compliment you are looking for to match your branding.

Basic Invite also offers super cute invitations, envelopes, and the option to add foiling to either of these stationaries. Adding silver, rose gold or gold foil to a business card or invitation adds that perfect finishing touch and chic detail which you can't go wrong with!

Right now, Basic Invite is offering 15% off using coupon code 15FF51.

I am so obsessed with the samples that I received and can't wait to put in my order for more! From embossed business cards, to cards with your photo these are some of the best looking business cards that I have laid my eyes on and you will not be disappointed!

70s Flare

I am loving the re-invention of the 70's trend. The bell bottoms, bell sleeves, fringe, platforms, retro sunnies and modest swimsuits and necklines are giving me so much life! This summer smock, and sunnies remind me of everything about 70's fashion. All I need is a little bit more Farrah Faucet flip and I'll be good! I love the high neckline, and gingham pattern of this dress- it's perfect for a Saturday picnic, brunch with the girls, or some summer fun in the city. Also, the price tag gave me all the heart eyes at just $17!

There are 4 different ways to incorporate the 70's remix trend into your wardrobe. First, invest in a pair of slim fit perfectly belled, bell bottoms or culottes. This is such a chic and sophisticated look and I'm so glad that it's making it's reappearance as a casual piece or a workwear piece. Since the weather will be getting warmer as the months go on, stick to lighter weight fabrics when it comes to finding this perfect piece. Second, incorporate fringe in small doses. There are plenty of cute fringe, gladiator sandals, crossbodies with fringe detail, and fringed denim is huge now but with fringe it's easy to over do it. Be selective in what you choose to be your staple fringe piece for an outfit. A little bit goes a long way with. Third, platform shoes! Nothing says 70's like the platform shoe. The height of these shoes range, but no matter the highness of the shoe, these are the most comfortable pair of "heels" I've worn in a while. I could wear these Steve Madden Rose Gold platforms for hours and not even think twice about it. This purchase was so worth it. Fourth, a pair of rounded, retro sunnies are an inexpensive way to give your look some 70's flare.

What do you guys think of the 70's trend? Leave me your thoughts in the comment section below!

Fringe With Benefits

Fringe Top: Lotus-SOLD OUT. Skirt/Dress: H&M. Shoes: Target. Earrings: Aldo Shoes.

This Valentine's Day I'm having a love affair with this chic, fun fringe top. Is it not the sassiest of sassiest tops you've ever seen?! Okay, maybe it's just me but I've been all about some fringe lately so when I laid eyes on this top there was no question in my mind that it was going home with me. And, in case you were wondering... this patterned midi "skirt" is actually a fitted, midi dress! I bought it on sale at H&M around the holidays and actually wore it to my birthday brunch. I knew I would be able to wear it for my brunch, and also to the office but would have never thought to pair it with this top to create a complete V-Day look. I've toggled the idea back in forth in my mind to do something like this (making a dress a skirt) with what was already in my closet, but I just couldn't seem to pinpoint a dress in my wardrobe that would give me the look that I was going for.

When I purchased this fringe top the other weekend, I initially thought it was look great with some distressed denim, and studded stilettos (fringe, distressed denim, and studded stilettos=  KILLER, rocker chic) BUT I knew this red/black combo would be more fitting for V-Day. I absolutely love it and I didn't have to go out and spend a dime on another piece to make the outfit complete. These bauble earrings are an older purchase from Aldo. Every woman should have statement jewelry on deck at all times especially for those fancier occasions.

Do you ladies have any special plans for the weekend? What do you plan on wearing? I'd love to know! Leave me a message in the comment section below.

Marble

Shoes: Aldo currently ON SALE here. Dress via Target found here. Leather Motto: Old via Forever 21. Beanie: Marshalls similar here, here and here

NORTH CAROOOLINAAAA COME ON AND RAISE UP! *in my best Petey Pablo voice* lol it's Monday and if you haven't heard- the Carolina Panthers are officially on their way to Super Bowl 50!! All of Charlotte was absolute mayhem last night as the Panthers clinched the NFC Championship Title. I'm still on a high and that's probably the only thing getting me through this Monday!

I guess that's enough sports talk, well...for now at least. Let's get to what you really came for. I love everything about this Target marble print scuba drop waist dress. The pastel tones are absolute winter perfection, and the fit is simply to die for. Whoever invented scuba material- I THANK YOU *insert emoji praise hands* I've been obsessed with these Aldo booties that my sister got me for Christmas. What's not to love about a chic, sleek black bootie with a metallic heel? And, ladies their currently on sale for under $100! You definitely need them in your life - trust me on this one :)

I hope you all have a fabulous Monday and #GoPanthers!

Wild Thing

Jumpsuit: H&M. Caged Booties: Sam Edelman via Belk. Sunnies: Fabrik Charlotte.

If you know me, you are also very familiar with my rather unhealthy obsession with leopard print. Fall, is my favorite time to pull out pops of leopard print which could range from a blanket scarf, leopard print flat, or heel. I would have never thought to take the plunge and go full out with a jumpsuit but when I spotted this sassy number at H&M a couple of weekends ago (on sale, might I add) I just couldn't resist. I'm a sucker for beautiful patterns and unique pieces and I'm so glad  I went with my gut feeling to make the purchase. It's absolutely perfect for the cooler temps, and could easily be worn for summer, spring, fall and winter. I can't wait to layer it with a navy blazer for work, or a transitional crisp white vest. Transitioning your summer pieces to fall is all in the layers.

CLEAN

White Top: Jessica Simpson. Jeans: Chip & Pepper. Shoes: Guess. Watch: Guess

I can already tell that this summer is going to be all about crisp, clean whites for me. I just love the light, airy freshness about white on white or this simple white top, with my favorite Chip & Pepper denim. I normally gravitate toward Jessica Simpson's show line over her clothing line any day, but surprisingly she carries some exceptionally cute pieces which are affordable and easy to style. This off-the-shoulder top and romper from my last post are just a few of my recent purchases. How do you guys feel about fresh whites for summer?

Neutrals

Black Denim Jeans: The Gap. Animal Print Heels: NineWest. Wool Blazer: Target. Black Top: Nordstrom TopShop. Handbag: Marshalls. Gray Beanie: Marshalls

Although I'm definitely a lover of fun, bright colors and patterns, my closet is full of staple neutral pieces for the winter. The newest addition to my closet is this cozy, wool blazer I picked up this past weekend from Target. I mean, does Target ever disappoint?! Yeah, negative. Also, it was on clearance for less than $20. Target, you are trouble but my wallet is not mad about it. At all. The awesome thing about neutrals is they can easily be collaborated with bolder tones or you can keep it sleek and chic with your basic blacks and grays. I obviously opted for the latter in today's look. Hats are almost always my go-to for whenever I just don't feel like doing my hair, not only that but to me they are very winteresque- making an everyday outfit a tad more cute and cozy. I've been getting my fair wear out of this cozy, slate gray beanie from Marshalls. How do you guys style your winter neutrals?

Faux Lace & Leather

Hello lovelies!! Hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday. Today, I'm channeling my inner Rachel Zoe. This look is perfect for Saturday or Sunday brunch with the girls! Cause friends who brunch together stay together ha! Brunch has been and always will be one of my favorite past times. Now back to Rachel...I love everything about Rachel Zoe's effortlessly, chic boho style. She most definitely makes my list of fashion icons. And, who says you can't wear maxi skirts in the winter?! I don't know if that's a rule, but if it is I"m totally breaking it. Sorry not sorry! Winterizing a patterned maxi dress or skirt or really any maxi is easily doable! Just throw on a cozy, floppy brimmed hat and leather motto jacket and you are set. Oh so chic, and oh so fab all in one! I had been looking for the perfect, little black shoe to wear this winter for some of my work day looks, and scored these Nine West heels at a huge post Christmas sale going on at Nordstrom Rack. I love the intricate detail of the "lacey" look and the fact that I could probably wear these for the winter and possibly the spring season as well.

Crossbody Bags & Caged Booties

Navy Hat: Yard Sale. Sweater: Marshalls. Boyfriend Jeans: Sevens for All Mankind via Clothes Mentor. Caged Booties: Sam Edelman via Belk. Studded Crossbody: Marshalls Necklace: Old Navy.

I surprisingly didn't do much Black Friday shopping this year! I did have to run a bunch of errands that day and couldn't resist stepping into Marshalls to see what kind of goodies they had in stock for all the crazies out shopping. I stumbled upon this perfect, leather studded crossbody and I'm so glad I went with my intuition to grab it. Crossbodies have to be my favorite trend this year. Don't get me wrong, I love a big bag but there is just something about the convenience and cuteness of having a little crossbody especially during holiday shopping. Because let's be real- having to carry around tons of shopping bags on top of lugging around a big ole handbag is NO FUN! That's what's so convenient about the crossbody, you just sling it on and you're on your merry way. Perfect! And, what's even more amazing about this Marshalls fabfound is that its identical to this Valentino Studded Mini Crossbody, but I paid a whole lot less!! Try $24.99 for this bad boy. FABULOUS! I'm currently obsessed with these creme colored Sam Edelman booties that I scored at Belk. They go with almost everything and the caged texture gives my comfy casual look a little bit of extra edge. Are you a crossbody or big handbag kinda girl? Or both?

Mix It Up

Camouflage Utility Jacket: Old Navy. Black & White Stripped Cotton Tee: Old Navy. Necklace: Old Navy. Black Skinnies w/ Leather Detail: Marshalls. Animal Print Pumps: Nine West. Bag: Marshalls

Hey  yall! If you spy something that looks very familiar in today's post then you're spot on. I styled this same black & white stripped cotton tee from Old Navy earlier this week which you can find here. I'm unashamed when it comes to wearing the same piece in a different way. Sometimes all you have to do to create a new outfit is mix up pieces that you already own which is the best because spending money isn't required! I'm a firm believer in mixing up pieces in your wardrobe and really getting your fair wear out of them. Just like I'm getting my fair wear out of this gorgeous bag...sorry not sorry! I just can't get enough. Unlike other fashion bloggers (which if you're like me then you follow aton), I'm unable to afford putting together a brand new outfit with different pieces from high end brands every day. I want people who follow along and read my blog to be able to relate to me and my style and to actually afford it! I love the comfort and fit of this Old Navy black and white stripped basic top. You can easily dress it up or down depending on the look you are going for. When building your wardrobe, I believe that every girl should have the essential skinnies and a pair of animal print pumps. Black skinnies will be your BFF in the fall/winter in that they go with basically everything whether its this super cute Camo utility jacket, a slouchy but chic baggy sweater/poncho and more. Animal print for me is an obvious yes in any case! I'm clearly obsessed. It's edgy and elegant when paired with the right outfit combo. Don't be afraid to wear pieces that you own more than once but in a different way! You'll be surprised what kind of looks you can put together with items that you already own!
