MAXI-mize Me

Aztec Printed Dress: Marshalls. Gold Necklace: Target. Nahla Nude Sandals: Fergie Footware. Snakeskin Clutch: Target. Ring: Platos Closet.

So, as you could probably tell I've gotten my fair wear out of maxi's this summer. I mean, how could I not?! I'm totally obsessed and am so okay with that. I think what I love most about the maxi dress is that there is a maxi out there for every size, shape and even personality. I'm naturally drawn to patterns, and love the playfulness of the Atzec detail. I laid eyes on it, and it was a done deal! I didn't realize the slits in the front until trying it on, and then I fell even more in love with it!! There is something playful, yet sophisticated and edgy about this fit that I just love. Also, I love that I have the option of styling this dress casual with a pair of cute, leather gladiator sandals, or dressing it up with a gladiator heel or cute wedge. I can go from carefree Saturday outfit to glamming it up with a loose up-do and statement gold earrings for a day/night summer wedding. 2 outfits options for the price of 1! Doesn't get much better than that ladies! I was a tad bit daring by accessorizing with this snakeskin clutch, but I love bold accessories and the tone of the clutch still flows with the overall color palette of the outfit.  Of course, I scored this dress at Marshalls. Marshalls is definitely my go-to for the cutest maxi's and my latest craving...kimonos!! Ladies check out your local Marshalls for the best #fabfinds.

More of YOU Mondays: God is There.

Happy Monday everyone! I can't believe that we are at the end of July. The summer has flown by! I've been super busy as of lately, just trying to stay on top of everything. I started another new job at the beginning of June at Belk's Corporate headquarters here in Charlotte,NC and it's actually something I've been wanting to do for some time now. It's a new, and exciting step in my career and I'm just so thankful. This was a complete answer to many prayers. Everything happened in such perfect timing. Like the kind of impeccable timing that isn't even explainable, you just know it's a God thing. Gosh, I love the Lord. I love his faithfulness, his diligence in remaining a constant source of strength, and his comfort that calms my soul when I feel like my whole world is falling apart.
We've all been in those stand still moments where it seems like everything in life is going wrong. Those moments when nothing seems to be going our way and we feel knocked down and defeated. I'm sure if we had the choice we would choose to fast-forward through all of those wrenching moments, and never look back. But, I'm glad that I serve a God who doesn't let us fast-forward. A God that uses those circumstances and moments in time to shape and grow our faith in Him. He uses those instances in our lives to bring us back to the heart of Him so that we can surrender what we thought was ours, and give it back to Him. We own nothing in this life. Everything given to us is a result of a gracious, merciful, and beautiful Father who seeks to fill our desires and meet us in and at every need.
"Though weeping my endure for the night, joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5. So, for anyone feeling broken, defeated, and tired of disappointment just know that God has not forgotten about you! He is there. He is walking beside you in the trials and tribulations. Cling to him and let Him use you in this season even if you don't understand why. Know that these trials are molding you and shaping you to be more like Him! Whether it's humbling you, softening your heart, or making you more bold to proclaim His name...it's all for a purpose. Wait on Him. He will make his purposes and ways known to you in time. Right now, just trust the process and rest in Him.

Flirty Prints & Fedora Hats

Printed Shorts: JCrew. Black Crop Top: Forever 21. Black Studded Crossbody: Ross Dress for Less. Shoes: Platos Closet. Fedora: Old.

There is nothing like a staple, go-to summer hat. This fedora is definitely my favorite little accessory to give any little outfit the perfect touch of summer sass! These printed JCrew shorts are by far my favorite pair of shorts that I own! Unlike most jean cuts, these are super flowy, lightweight and also give you the versatility to dress them up or dress them down! It's always key when shopping to purchase pieces where you can easily do both, and I think that's why I love these so much. I paired these printed shorts, with a classic black crop top which gives the look a little smidge of edge, and these strappy black sandals. What are some of your favorite staple accessories for the summer?

Turquoise

Maxi Dress: Ross Dress for Less. Gold Metallic Sandals: Old Navy. Watch: Guess. Bangles: Old Navy

While the temps are at an all time high in the Carolinas, I'm dreaming of a vacay in Greece! It's on my bucket list to travel to one of the most beautiful places I've ever laid eyes on via Google images of course ha! The people, the food, the place- I want to experience everything Greece has to offer. One day! But until then, I'll just close my eyes and pretend while I stroll the town in this gorgeous turquoise Maxi. Oh my goodness, I'm in love with everything about it! Especially being that turquoise is my favorite color and for some reason I just feel like a Greek Goddess would totally wear this! By now, you guys know that touches of gold accessories are my go to. I actually found these gold metallic sandals at Old Navy a couple of weekends ago for like $7. And yes, it made my heart happy. Such a great find! The puffed sleeves give me that kind of seventies vibe, which just makes this dress an all around modern summer classic. I'll definitely be getting my fair wear out of it ;)

Retro Reds

Retro Red Sunnies: Target. Peplum Printed Top: Marshalls. White Cut-Off Shorts: Ross Dress for Less. Cobalt Blue Heels: Jessica Simpson via Off Broadway Shoes. Statement Earrings: Old Navy. White Clutch: Ross Dress for Less.

Happy 4th of July Everyone!! I absolutely love all the patriotism and summer memories that the 4th of July brings. The fireworks, the cookouts, the laughter...all the above! I'm super excited to be reuniting with my college roommates to celebrate the holiday. How will you guys be celebrating? This is more of my cutesy 4th of July look- I'll most likely be in cutoff jean shorts with a pair of chucks tonight lol def no heels! But I was really feeling doing this look up with the ever popular Jessica Simpson Cobalt blue Julez heels that I just love so much! I don't care where you are, it's most likely hot and humid wherever you're going this afternoon/this evening, therefore cute, fringed cut-offs are a MUST! I've been on the lookout for a pair of crisp white cut-offs, and scored these at Ross Dress for Less. I love the aztec detail on the pockets. This peplum printed top is super light and flowy-which is also perfect for celebrating outdoors. My whole vision for this outfit was to be cute, but also comfortable and cool. You could easily dress this outfit down with a pair of gladiator sandals. And, it's definitely not the 4th of July without bold red lips, and retro red sunnies! I hope that you enjoy the holiday!
