More of YOU Mondays! Outfit Inspiration & Moving Forward Motivation

I'm naturally drawn to royal and electric blue hues, there is just something about the color that I love so much! For work wear, I always soften bold colors with neutral tones, and would easily pair this dress with nude pumps. I own wayyyyy too many pairs as it is! But I think that every girl should own a pair of classic, nude pumps. This statement necklace screams spring is here to stay! I love the bulky, jeweled flowers.

This past week has taught me a lot about moving forward. Life is about living, and living for what is ahead. Sulking and dwelling on the past is no way to live! and I refuse to use my past or other's people's past as crutch or a road block that stands in the way of all that is bright and beautiful ahead. I am excited for all that is ahead of me! I love this quote from C.S. Lewis and thought that I would share. Happy Monday!

Maxi Dress: Target. Blush Pink Motto Jacket: Thrift Find. Emerald Green Heels: Jessica Simpson

I can always count on Jessica Simpson for the cutest, most stylish and colorful pair of heels anytime of the year! These Emeraldish green heels were a New Years Eve outfit purchase, and I've been rocking them ever since then. They are the perfect shade for spring, so I'm sure I'll be getting my wear out of them and you'll be seeing them a lot on the blog! lol Although some mornings have still been chilly, the weather is finally starting to consistently warm up. Maxi dresses are my go to for spring/summer outings with friends or perfect for a day in corporate America. Me and funky patterns are best friends. I love them. Of course, this cute little number is from Target! This dress is one of many pieces that I've snatched up from their Spring line. This blush pink motto jacket, which I also styled here is perfect for those chilly mornings, and completes the look with a little bit of a flirtatious edge. How do you guys feel about patterned maxi's?

More of YOU Mondays: What Makes You Happy?

More of YOU Mondays is back after a little break last week! I took a much needed vacation with my boyfriend and his family, and I had such a great time. Last week we roadtripped to Michigan, St. Louis and Branson, MO and lastly, Nashville. We did a lot of travelling but I loved every second of it! I love traveling, and was very much looking forward to getting to spend time with him and his family. Also, I'm a big fan of a good ole family road trip, and its something that his family is really into, which I love. They love picking up and just going and experiencing the world around them which I can really appreciate. Life is all about seeing different things and experiencing different places! I was excited to get to see and experience places that I had never been before. We ate lots of delicious home cooked food, laughed, and cherished the time together.

Needless to say, we (well, the men lol) drove long long hours over the course of the week and we spent a lot of time in the car. I like to be comfortable when I travel, so I wore acid wash distressed denim, paired with a cotton camo print T-shirt, a classic pair of chucks, bangles and a pair of Aviators. Everything except the Chucks came from Target! I'm OBSESSED with these Chuck Taylors, which were a gift from my boyfriend. I guess you could say that I am behind on owning a pair of classic Chuck Taylors, especially after hearing that my dad owned a pair way way back in the day! lol anyways, I'll definitely be adding more pairs to my new little collection. They are super comfy, and stylish for any laid back outfit of the day.

I hope you all have a fabulous Monday! and whatever you decide to do in life whether it be career-wise, relationships, friendships, etc. make sure that it makes YOU happy! Don't get so caught up in pleasing others, that you neglect to take care of your happiness FIRST. Go forth and be HAPPY! BE YOU!

Shine On

Dress: Marshalls. Simliar- Here. Necklace: The Loft. Shoes: Off Broadway Jessica Simpson Julez

Instead of sticking to spring pastels this Easter, I decided to go with something a little bit more bolder and brighter! I spotted this metallic number in Marshalls (surprise, surprise!) and had to give it a try. It fits like a glove, and the length is absolutely perfect. Picking out the perfect Easter dress is a tradition that I'll continue for myself and my children, when I have them, a long long time from now! lol I can't seem to keep my eyes off all things metallic and chrome, everywhere I turn I see a new piece that I want to add to my wardrobe. Like these bronze strappy sandals with turquoise accent from Aldo shoes and these pretty pink pumps from JustFab shoes. I just can't get enough! What do you guys think of the spring metallic trend? How would you rock metallic pieces?

Crochet Top: Marshalls. Bohemian Guacho Wide Legged Pants: Buffalo Exchange. Shoes: Steve Madden

These psychedelic Bohemian wide legged pants are another thrift find from Buffalo Exchange. This spring/summer is all about bold statement pieces, and these pants make the ULTIMATE statement! I kept it light with this creme, crochet fringe top, gold accessories and these camel Steve Madden sandals with a chunky heel. I love Bohemian inspired style. Which styles are your favorite?

More of YOU Mondays: Outfit/Monday Inspiration

Mixing your neutrels (beige, black, animal print) with pops of color is the perfect way to transition some of your fall wardrobe pieces into the spring. Try mixing your neutrels with pops of mint, peach, or my 2 favorites this spring season: Cayenne and Radiant Orchid. I'm dying over these pastel peach Christian Louboutin pumps! I'm not sure if I could ever bring myself to fork over as much money as these gorgeous gals cost but I'm determined to find a pair just as cute for a lot less to add to my spring/summer wardrobe. Throw a black blazer on over this cute animal print ensemble to make it work appropriate. Oh! and if no one has told you today... You LOOK BEAUTIFUL! and I hope you feel beautiful from the inside-out, today and everyday. Walk in the confidence of beauty defined by you and only you.

Beauty Review: Olay Pro-X

I've had my eye on the Clarisonic Mia for awhile now. I've heard nothing but great things about the skin cleansing device, but just couldn't get past the price tag! I'm a bargainer at heart, so I started looking for the next best thing that would also fit into my price range.

The Olay Pro-X facial brush was exactly what I had been looking for, and cost me less than half the price of a Clarisonic! Just recently, my skin has been a bit unruly during that dreaded time of the month, and I was in search for something that would really give my skin the deep cleaning that it needs when my skin is just going bonkers.  The Olay Pro-X has been lovely! -a great cleanser and deep down exfoliator. Sometimes you just need to feel like your pores are getting penetrated and cleaned properly and using your hands isn't always the best way to do that! The Pro-X works at 2 speeds, and is also water resistant which I love because I'm able to do my face washing in the shower if need be.

I've been using the device for a couple of weeks now and could see an improvement in the overall brightness of my skin immediately after my first use. I used the electronic brush with the Say Yes Grapefruit exfoliating scrub which made for a great duo. My skin felt so clean, fresh and soft! The brush is gentle, and it almost feels like you're getting a mini facial. Also, this may be TMI, but I could also see all the the dirt and grime that was being excavated from my face as a result of the brush. So I definitely know it was getting the job done.

I could kick myself for not taking before/after pictures to share with you guys  but the Pro-X worked wonders and lessened my breakouts during that time of the month. I use it everyday, and make sure to moisturize immediately after in order to prevent dryness. If you are in the market looking for an affordable electronic skin care cleansing brush, then give the Pro-X a shot! It can be found at Walmart and Target as well as Amazon
